The Warrenton Fire Protection District hosts an Annual Open House and invites the public to visit, meet the firefighters and learn about ways to keep themselves and their families safe.There are activities for children which encourages them to feel comfortable and safe with firefighters. Firefighters in full gear can be a bit intimidating to young children.Watching a friendly firefighter put on the special clothing, helmet and mask helps to calm the youngster's fears.Every year in October, the District visits with the local schools to talk about Fire Prevention and teach the children about having a fire escape plan and to practice it.There is also a special program for Fourth Graders that is taught annually with emphasis on bike, water, and fire safety.Additionally, Warrenton Fire Protection District will provide free home fire safety inspections to any resident of the District.
